Field Notes

Description:

White body with blue-green head and wings, long pointy beak.

Habitat:

Mangroves.

Notes:

Sighted at low tide at Boondall Wetlands. I watched it catch and eat a little crab in the mangroves.

Me too. So many cool places to visit, but so little time. I had never seen one of these birds until one crashed into a window where I work. He was a lucky little guy. I haven't seen one since. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/1552356017
Thanks Neil. I've only been once, it's a great place for bird spotting, I was amazed at how many birds I saw in a short time. Will have to go again.
