Field Notes

Description:

a sprawling shrub growing up to 5ft. The branches are grey, yellow, or reddish brown. The leaves grow opposite of eavhother and over lap and is usually dark green or grayish on the upper surface and darker underneath, theyre oval and round and about 1in.

Habitat:

There are 12 Wikstroemia species endemic to the Hawaiian islands. Wikstroemia uva-ursi occurs in scattered populations on windy coastal locations, dry ridges, open hillsides, ledges, 'a'a lava, and other dry, open habitats from 10 to 1,400 feet on Kaua'i, O'ahu, Moloka'i, and Maui.
