Description:

about 2.5", stocky body

Habitat:

rainforest, 1400m

Notes:

I spotted this at Yotoco natural reserve. I found it the morning I was leaving the reserve perched on my tent. I carefully coaxed it inside the tent to get some decent photos. Last photo is from outside my tent.

Thanks J, I'll go with your ID suggestion. I'm not going to try and take it to the species level as you are right, they are just too close. Thanks Rieko.

This is just gorgeous! Please verify, Saturniidae, Ceratocampinae, Rachesa. As for the species, most are Amazonian, or around that area, so I don't think we can get a positive species. Ceratocampinae itself is tricky!
