It is a Bromeliad for sure, and I think the Flaming Sword Bromeliad (Vriesea splendens); unless there is another species with this striped leaf, not sure. http://www.homedesigndirectory.com.au/gardening/plant-finder/plant-descriptions/vriesea-splendens/?plant-id=1200#.UWDOssu9KSM
