Habitat:

Hiding among fishbone fern fronds (Nephrolepis cordifolia) along with several other Ghost moths at night near a light bollard

14 mm is short, Maybe the drought? I started calling them 'chocolate' and have kept it up because it as you say it fits them. Those deep browns and ripples
I haven't heard of 'chocolate' for these although appropriate as they are little sweeties. One strange thing we noticed this season is that the males can be considerably different sizes. Some have been really tiny around here lately - maybe 14mm long?
