Field Notes

Description:

Male is distinctive with a blue-grey neck, white belly, white face and a blackish-brown crown; upperparts are brown with fine, dark brown vermiculations. Female and immature are duller than male, with brown crown and hindneck; brownish-grey fore-neck.

Habitat:

Wide range of open grassland below 2000m, usually with bush or tree cover
