Field Notes

Habitat:

On a tree somewhere along Interstate 4 between Palm Coast, Florida and Orlando, Florida.

Notes:

Location is approximate. Found between Palm Coast, Florida and Orlando, Florida. Sorry for the terrible quality of the photo. I figured I would upload it, as it looked much different than a Red-tailed Hawk and might be a lifer. I did not get a shot of the face, but I think there was a dark stripe on it when it looked, but it was difficult to tell as I was on a moving bus.

Species ID Suggestions

Red-tailed Hawk

Buteo jamaicensis

Thank you Auntie! I thought I saw a stripe on the cheek, but I am now doubting myself.
The lightness near the shoulders could indicate a red-tailed; but if it had a vertical stripe on the cheek, it could also be a pergrine falcon.
Thank you Cody. I will leave it as Buteo, as it seems to be difficult to rule out other species.
