Description:
Small leaf warbler, smaller and tinier than a house sparrow, about 10 cm in length, olive-green above, off-white below and a well defined yellowish supercilium. Difficult to ID, because of its resemblance with Wood and Willow warblers (P. sibilatrix and P. trochilus) - fortunately, the colour of its legs helps here, as this is the only one having dark brown to black legs.
Habitat:
Seen on shores of our swift and wild beautiful small river, Valserine, at the spot where it forms its rapids. The river flows through Jura mountain range, through its mixed forest, and this portion of it is particularly protected for its biodiversity.
Notes:
Every time I go for warblers with my camera I forget how nightmarish it is to photograph them; they are so energetic and restless when jumping and sneaking through canopy. This time again, there were no exceptions - from about fifty or sixty shots, I got only these two pics I could use... However, no regrets - it is always a great excitement and pleasure to watch and hear them.
