Field Notes

Description:

A common, large wild goose with black head and neck, white patches on the face, and brownish-gray body. Large webbed feet and wide flat bill. Largest adults: Length up to 48 inches. Weight: Average male 12 1/2 lbs. Average female 11 lbs. Wingspan up to 72 inches. These geese may be especially aggressive during pairing up and nesting.

Habitat:

Upper canal near woodlands. Went to private area not reachable by humans most likely for their nest.
