Field Notes
Description:
Large Moth about 3.5 cm long. It has face-like markings on the front of the Pronotum. Family Cossidae, Subfamily Hypoptinae. The larvae of Cossid moths are wood boring.
Habitat:
Came to an ultraviolet light, Finca Argovia, Ruta de Café, Soconusco Area of Chiapas, about 2 hours north of Tapachula.
