Field Notes
Description:
small orange cup shaped fungi with light hair and no or short stalk, apparent also comes in pink, see last photo, which may be a different species
Habitat:
tropical forest, swamp forest
Notes:
I spotted these growing in Golden Stream Corridor Preserve in southern Belize. Since it was raining a lot these became more and more abundant. From seeing just one or two growing on a dead branch on the ground to see entire dead trees covered with them, easily over 50 specimens on one small tree. I saw them in pink as well and also smooth with no hair.
