Field Notes

Description:

Remarkable moth about 2 cm long. Yellow, pink and orange coloring. The upper wings have large yellow transparent patches that in dim light make the moth look more like a beetle with long antennae. The legs are white with little black feet. Tiger Moth: Family Erebidae, Subfamily Arctiinae.

Habitat:

Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.

Notes:

Thank you bayucca, sorry I missed the underwings and abdomen. I'll get them on the next one.
