Pacific ocean.

yes jellis.Was dead and washed ashore.Ventral view would have been good too.Normally am too hesitant of touching marine sea creatures for fear of being stung.
This looks more like a Gumboot Chiton, Cryptochiton stelleri http://www.uniprot.org/taxonomy/6655 Warty Sea Cucumber has spiny like texture.
