Description:
Endemic to Florida, throughout much of the peninsula. Likes Sandy well-drained uplands such as Sandhills.
May reach 3ft high, it is rather straggly-looking. Stem is over rd in sticky hairs, and tends to grow leaning at an angle. (I'd love to know why...) Most of the leaves are at the lower portion of the stem, with typical legume leaflets of 3-7. Flower is not much bigger than a thumbnail and a pretty canary yellow.
Habitat:
Longleaf Pine Sandhill, SaltSprings Island, Ocala National Forest.
