Description:
Body laterally flattened, oval in profile, with a slender, deeply forked tail. Body varies from brownish gray to olive-brown in color. Border of dorsal fin and tips of the tail fin yellow. A prominent black spot at the pectoral-fin base, and a white spot just behind the dorsal fin. Individuals in the southern Caribbean, often have black borders on the tail fin.
Size up to 20 cm.
Habitat:
Oil Slick Leap dive site in Bonaire.
Habitat:
Occurs above steep slopes and patch reefs, between 2 and 40 m. A diurnal species, forming moderate-sized feeding-schools (C. multilineata). Feed on zooplankton, mainly copepods.
