Description:

A sprawling perennial, naturally occuring along beaches and sandy coastal areas. Always blooming in warm weather, and reseeds itself freely.

Habitat:

Subtropical Gulf Coast from Texas to Florida, and Atlantic Coast in Florida.

Notes:

In the same genus as the familiar giant sunflower. This plant is valuable for dune protection and beach erosion control.
