Description:
A monocot of the family asparagaceae
It has tuberous roots which have scars that supposedly resemble the star of David. The genus polygonatum if found throughout the northern hemisphere.
Long history if medicinal use In many cultures, some species are edible, but it has never been a staple food.
Notes:
Found growing on a roadside, which is unusual for this plant. It may have been planted there some time ago
