Field Notes

Description:

Female sunbirds can be very difficult to positively identify as many can appear to be very similar to each other. Most nests are also of the pendant type as seen here. Length of bill and tail can sometimes help as can a view of the underside of the tail. As far as I could determine this is the same bird in all 6 pictures, certainly the gps shows all taken in the same position.

Habitat:

Roadside in tropical rainforest. The nest was almost level with the general ground level but in a bush overhanging a ditch.
