Field Notes

Description:

A fairly dense cluster of weeping shelves totalling 40cms tall.

Habitat:

On the base of a large eucaluptus regnans in a national park rainforest.

Notes:

Ryvardenia is a genus with only two member species. One in Australia and one in Argentina. "Molecular analysis of specimens from Argentina and Australia has shown that the species separate into two distinct clades that are each restricted biogeographically to one side of the Pacific, suggesting that the taxa are speciating."
