Field Notes

Description:

This beautiful herbaceous plant is a foreigner in South Africa brought here by contaminated horse feed during the anglo-boer war. It is an annual flowering plant that reach up to a metre long and in this case has created beautiful floral shaped stamens laden with pollen. Flowers within a flower that have given us a wonderful sight to behold growing wild where we live.

Habitat:

Spread easily alone a diverse range and often pop up in seeding beds where they become a nascence.
