Leuba, You are correct.I found it as S. tetrgonum alias S. colais. I know nothing about plants.But very much interested recently after searching for. S. Chelonoides.

Thank you very much. I am interested to know about Paadhiri (Stereospermum chelonoides) and other species of Stereospermum. Is there any place you know where they have complete knowledge on Paadhiri (There are different kinds:Poopaadhiri,Venpapaadhiri,Sempaadhiri etc.,) Interested to know about fragrant Paadhiri: I know from mother the flowers are fragrant and the extract from flower is dried and applied to forehead like kumkum which was Sthala tree in Vallakottai. My search continues....

You probably know more about plants than I do. The genus Stereospermum looks good but maybe S. tetragonum https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stereospermum_tetragonum The flowers are lovely.
