Description:

This is one of Europe's largest dragonflies. The male is easy to identify with its apple green thorax and bright blue abdomen and blue eyes, as the one in the pics. The female is mostly green and also has the apple green thorax.
It is very common and it can be found mainly in Europe and nearby Africa and Asia. This male was spotted in Kato Gatzea, Pagasitikos gulf, Greece.
