Field Notes

Description:

While walking the SAS rainforest, I noticed a fruit called a durian. For those of you who are unaware of what a durian is, it's a fruit that is native to South East Asia. This particular durian was about 6 1/2 inches long, or 16.51 centimeters. Like every durian, it had a large range of spike on the outer layer, and it was a brown/tan color. When it comes to durians, there is a pretty distinct smell, However, this durian smelled sweet unlike its unique, usual smell.

Habitat:

South East Asia (This one was found in the Singapore American School Rainforest)

Notes:

Durian trees can grow anywhere up to 150 ft. Durians are pollinated by fruit bats Durians are typically about the size of an American football
