Description:

Duck with a elongated and flat bill, used for dabbling the surface of the water. Male has dark green head, black bill and back. White chest and brown flanks. Female a duller brown

Habitat:

Marsh

Notes:

Unlike most ducks, these shovelers weren't flighty. Initially spotted with its head tucked under its wings. spooked it and it lifted it head, but just looked at me.
