Field Notes

Description:

Stocky brown and white mottled bird. There is a crest on the head, and they are pale underneath.

Habitat:

Found high in a tree along a road, it was doing a fairly poor job of balancing on the skinny tree limbs. Found in a snow-covered bog with mostly spruce trees.
