Beautiful pink purple flowers. Sometimes has seed pods. Medium sized tree. Popular in parks and gardens.

To avoid confusion with true orchids, it is probably best to include the word "tree" in the common name, e.g. "Hong Kong orchid tree" or simply "orchid tree", and "Camel's foot" without the "orchid". I think you'll see the usage in this way. All are members of the genus Bauhinia.
