Description:
A very large wasp (5cm) moving from flower to flower. The head was a yellow orange colour and its abdomen had yellow transverse markings like conjoined spots.
The wasp was not aggressive and was only interested in collecting nectar.
Habitat:
This was found in the morning on the East facing side of a 700m hill. The terrain was rocky with scrub and low lying bushes and occasional short trees. A few flowering plants scattered around. The temperature was approximately 30 degrees celsius.
