Description:

Wasp approx. 1.2cm long, observed digging in the sand, I'm not sure what it was digging for but it didn't haven't any success while I watched.

Hey Vinny, all I have come up with is a Black-banded Spider Wasp (unsure of species) but I don't think they are in the Territory...This is the site I was looking at and the insect looks similar: http://www.alamy.com/stock-photo/spider-wasps.html I'll keep looking though :)
