Field Notes

Description:

Beautiful big white butterfly with dark brown, light brown, purple and golden stripes and spots. Approx 7-8cm wing span, having just apparently finished its emergence from its pale gold chrysalis.

Habitat:

Suburban front yard in currently untidy Chinese celtis, no chemical subtropical semi native garden.

Notes:

Sadly I only got the one fuzzy iPhone shot of it before it flew away, but I’ve never seen this one in my yard before.
