Field Notes

Description:

So many crab spiders on my caper these days! These small (about 3 mm in body length) and dark-colored spiders are male. The females are larger and bright yellow. (Spotting of female: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/2078036002) This sexual dimorphism is typical to this family of crab spiders.

Habitat:

spotted on the caper bush (Capparis sp.) in my desert garden
