Field Notes

Description:

Common Palmfly is a species of satyrid butterfly. Blue, black and rust...striking colour contrast. It had just emerged and its wings were still crumpled. Males and females look different. Females mimic the tiger butterflies...so this one is a male (I think.)

Habitat:

On the trunk of a decorative palm tree in my office.
