Field Notes

Description:

orange beetle, ~ 5 mm long, with black spots on elytra.

Habitat:

Tropical; dry coastal strand shrubland and grassland.

Notes:

Spotted on vegetation alongside what passes for a 4-wheel drive road, west of the end of Farrington Highway on the north shore of Oahu. (It was imaged on dirt nearby, following inspection by 3- and 1-year olds.)

Hema - Some quick and easy online checking suggests you are correct. The count is seven, and "we have a winner." I have updated the spotting. Again, thanks for the ID!
i believe that one is counted as one.
I count seven, unless the "one" just behind the thorax is actually two because it is on both elytra.
