Any idea what kind of crab this was, and what's now growing on it?

The things on the crab are barnacles - probably Balanus or Chthamalus sp. Balanus are larger, whiter, and have a diamond-shaped operculum. Chthamalus are smaller, more gray, and have a more oval-shaped operculum. The crab looks like some kind of rock crab (Cancer sp.).
