Description:

You can see in the photos of the flowers that the glandular trichomes the plant uses to capture prey go all the way up the flower stalk and are even on the sepals. I often find tiny little flies trapped in the leaves as they are slowly "digested."

Habitat:

Edge of a fire-suppressed longleaf pine sandhill savanna near a pond.
