Field Notes

Description:

A juvenile parasol mushroom still unfurling its cap.

Habitat:

This beautiful specimen was standing alone in a partially shady opening near the camping grounds of Lake Catherine St. Park. It was at a mowed grass walking area, under a stand of tall Loblolly pines. The soil seemed well drained, but it was within 500 ft. of the lakeside.

Notes:

No spore print taken.
