Field Notes

Description:

This is my yellow lab, Sandy. She is a little over 9 years old, but still has a lot of energy (based off of the picture of her chasing the bunny). Sandy has very thick blonde hair and sheds year round. She was the runt of her litter and is a little bit shorter than the average lab. Although she is short, she makes up for it in her weight. She is about 20 overweight compared to the average lab her size. She loves to lick people and is constantly wagging her tail (or drinking from bird baths).

Habitat:

Sandy lives in my backyard all year, but does come inside when we are experiencing extreme weather conditions (excessive heat, cold, or other weather that could be dangerous). Labradors live in habitats similar to humans, since they live with humans. They sleep in houses ( dog houses ) or just outside. It is imprtant that they have enough room to run and play. An apartment isn`t the most suitable habitat for these animals due to the lack of space to roam. An average sized backyard with toys is every labs dream.
