That graphic is for determining Eristalis species. I'd say this looks more like something in the Subfamily Syrphinae, Tribe Syrphini. http://bugguide.net/node/view/12646/bgpage Many syrphids are identified by markings on the abdomen and thorax. Without an aerial view, syrphids can be tough to ID

I want to say it is a Syrphid fly (Syrphidae). The best diagnostic tool is the spurious wing vein (see: http://bugguide.net/node/view/240586), but it is hard to discern the separate wing veins in these pictures.
