Field Notes

Description:

Looks like katydid. It is green and veined like leaf - like a bay leaf. Has a tiny but sharp pair of eyes and long antennae. Legs are short and look that of tortoise or tortoise beetle. Does not move much, unlike katydid.
Dorsal wing length: 78 mm.

Habitat:

Building surrounded by bamboo, pines, cherry and other mixed forests. Cool to warm place. Altitude: 1,700 m.

Notes:

This one came flying to the white CFL light sheet in the late evening.
