Field Notes

Description:

While driving a gravel road between 2 ponds I stopped to take a picture of some geese with goslings. When done, I turn around and see this grebe sitting 10 feet away from me, seemingly watching me. While taking pictures and trying to get closer, it would swim away but when i stop, it would slowly swim back. Dove once when I moved too fast, but quickly resurfaced and swam slightly towards me.
