Field Notes

Description:

These were found growing wild near a limpid stream in Woolly Hollow State Park, near Greenbrier, Arkansas.

Corrected from: Silene regia

Thank you very much for the information!

Habitat:

They were growing under moderate forest cover, in a wet little sump by a fallen old tree. May have been a small dried stream bed but could not confirm.

Comments (1)

It's actually a Fire Pink. The giveaway is the notched petals, which Royal Catchfly doesn't have. The habitat matches Fire Pink, as well.
