Field Notes

Description:

Bright orange brackets with dense reddish orange hairy tops. The largest was about 55 mm wide.The uneven underside was a stark white with minute angular pores and a few bruises oozing brown liquid. Clear moisture droplets were also seen on the pore surface.

Habitat:

Spotted growing on damp eucalyptus tree stump in a rain forest.

Notes:

This species is also seen in New Zealand and South America. <br> Order: Polyporales
