Field Notes

Description:

Highly variable in colours, they comes in red, green, purplish, yellow, brown or grey, often with darker mottling; long narrow dorsal fin, fan-like ventral and tail fins; short tail base. Mostly found in solitary or in pairs. Their manner of swimming is 'floating' like a piece of grass and making them looks like a floating debris/algae/grass.
Ghostpipefish are from the same family of seahorses.

Habitat:

Mostly found among sandy or grassy and coral rubbles.
