Hi! nice picture for that wonderful monarch butterflies here in the Philippines monarch butterflies subspecies is endanger to the climate change and man made infrastructure, they can,t live in one place because of many disturbances like shortage of food, the hot temperature, destroyed habitat and the appropriate plant for that kind of butterfly....I will help to record and research about the monarch butterflies in the Philippines
Thanks Pradeep! Silver Birch - yes, I haven't seen many in the last few years. Habitat loss, weather, the decline of certain flowering plants and milkweed, etc. are all issues. I plant and help hand out native milkweed seeds each year in an attempt to at least help with that part of the problem...such a small thing, but hopefully it helps.
Are they getting rarer because of their habit being destroyed?
