Description:

The Spanish sparrow, sometimes referred to as Willow sparrow, is a passerine bird of the family Passeridae (sparrows, petronias). Size and general appearance pretty much like House sparrow, except for a chest streaked in black, and a brown crown (instead of grey like House sparrow). Female and juvenile show no difference, and look like their House sparrow counterparts.

Habitat:

Seen all over Malta.
Otherwise, it is common in some parts of Mediterranean region: North Africa, Iberian peninsula, parts of Balkan peninsula, south-west to central Asia.
