Field Notes

Description:

A small 14mm long moth with 3-part colours - tan-pale yellow and black.

Habitat:

Resting on mortar in heavily built-up bayside suburb.

Notes:

It was a very dull day so the colours are quite flat. Thanks StephenSolomons for ID. "The larvae bore into the stems of Acacia perangusta and the galls of Eriosoma lanigerum on Malus pomone." - Wiki. All the references say this one should not be in Victoria ? (NT, Qld, NSW only) http://bie.ala.org.au/species/Labdia+deliciosella
