Description:

The beetle measured about 1cm in body length. Apparently it had just laid a clutch of eggs and a number of tiny flies were all over them. Don't know if they damage/parasitise the eggs...

Habitat:

Found in 'El Cimatario', a national park in semi-arid area just outside the city. The rainy season is now in full swing and many animals are venturing out.
