Field Notes

Description:

Chrysomelidae beetle, though it has Calligrapha type markings, it may belong to another genus.

Notes:

Strong resemblance to the specimen identified as Leptinotarsa belti in Biologia Centrali-Americana, vol VI, pt 1, tab 13, #18. This reference is more than 100 years old, and the nomenclature has evolved with time. I haven't been able to track down what the modern name of this species may be.

Must ge this one, I did not found another similar one. Name might still be the same depending on the source, Leptinotarsa belti or Stilodes belti. http://insects.oeb.harvard.edu/mcz/FMPro?-DB=Image.fm&-Lay=web&-op=eq&-max=20&-Format=thumbs_compare.htm&compare=Leptinotarsa_habitus_lateral_view&-Find This link is no longer active, so I just add the corresponding search link. I did not found any other reference.
