Field Notes

Description:

This plant at first resembles a dandelion with no flowers, but if you look closer you see it's leaves are spiked, and are more leathery than a dandelion. The entire plant was a vivid green color.

Habitat:

Found on a trail in a forest made up of mostly loblolly pines. It was growing near a muddy spot, the ground was covered in pine needles.
