Field Notes

Description:

a small white moth with grey spots with black rings around. underneath the wings and on the abdomen is an intense pink and yellow. chances are the pink could glow under black light. i am unsure what it’s measurements are exactly. it laid tiny pearlescent white eggs.

Habitat:

aspen grove, meadow, lodgepole pine forests.

Notes:

first time posting here! i’ve tried to research what type of moth this is, but my closest leads are many spotted tiger moths. my only hunch is the grey spots with black rings instead of just pure black spots.

i want to try and hatch the eggs so i can keep one caterpillar to watch it grow. but i don’t know enough about this species to give it the proper diet and living conditions.
