Field Notes

Description:

It has a dark blue back and a brown forehead and throat. The belly is cream colored, and the tail is really long and forked.

Habitat:

They are found on all continents except Antarctica in open country with little vegetation. This guy was hanging out on a power line at the edge of Palo Duro Canyon. I was on the wrong side of light, but these are my only photos of a barn swallow.
